Soil Testing

We bring forth a comprehensive range of Soil Testing solutions to our clients that includes Sand Pouring Cylinder, California Bearing Ratio Apparatus, Cone Penetrometer Soil, Proctor Penetrometer, Infra-Red Moisture Balance, Laboratory Vane Shear and more. These are commonly used to check the fertility of soil for the better crop growth. Moreover, these also helps in measuring the availability of mineral nutrients and thus are offered to clients at most competitive rates. These equipments find application in calibration labs / test houses, cement, ceramic, chemicals, construction, defense, education, irrigation, mining and power.

Soil Compactor

We provide soil laboratory compaction and penetration tests on soils using the equipment named Universal Automatic Compactor. These tests are carried out on regular interval. These services eliminate the tedious hand compaction process. We ensure that these services are executed consuming less time. The equipment that we use matches with Ref Std : IS 2720

Sand Pouring Cylinder

The apparatus is used for determination of the dry density of compact, fine, medium grained soils and for layers not exceeding 50 cm thickness. A circular hole is dug into the ground, all the soil from within it collected, weighed and dried, and the hole back-filled with a standard uniform sand or fine gravel, poured from a calibrated container for calculating the volume of hole.

Sand Pouring Cylinder, fitted with conical. Funnel and Shutter
  • 100mm (10cm) dia Sand Pouring ylinder
  • 150mm (15cm) dia Sand Pouring Cylinder
  • 200mm (20cm) dia Sand Pouring Cylinder

California Bearing Ratio Apparatus

The CBR test is used for determining the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics under known surcharge weights of base, sub-base and sub grade soils for the design of roads, pavements and runways. Tests can be conducted on all types of soils including sand, gravel and washed stone (passing through 20 mm IS Sieve). The CBR test is used extensively in selection of materials and control of sub grades. The procedure consists of loading soil with a circular piston, 50 mm dia face and maintaining a penetration rate of 1.25 mm/min. The load is noted and the results of test on natural or recompacted soils, in soaked and unsoaked conditions, can be compared with standard test results.

The Apparatus Consist of following:
  • Load Frame, 50kn ( 5000 kgf)
  • Mould 150mm ID x 175mm high
  • Perforated Base Plate
  • Extension Collar, 150mm ID x 50mm high
  • Penetration Piston, 50mm face dia
  • Adjustable Bracket, for Penetration Dial Gauge
  • Circular Metal Spacer Disc
  • Annular Metal Weight, 2.5kg, 147mm dia with 53 mm dia central hole
  • Perforated Metal Weight 2.5 kg. 147mm dia, with 53mm dia soft
  • Perforated Plate, 148mm dia, with adjustable stem and lock nut
  • Metal Tripod for Dial Gauge
  • Cutting Collar
  • Rammer 2.6kg, 310mm controlled drop
  • Rammer 4.9kg, 450mm controlled drop
  • Proving Ring Capacity 50 KN
  • Dial Gauge, 25 mm travel, 0.01mm least count.

Cone Penetrometer Soil

For determining the liquid limit of soils. This is specially useful to obtain reliable and accurate results of those soil which have low plasticity index. The percentage moisture contents determined when cone with half angle of 15-30 minutes under a total sliding weight of 148 gm penetrates 25mm gives the liquid limit.

The test is based on the relationship between moisture content and the penetration of the cone into the soil sample. The moisture content at a given depth of penetration of the cone is taken as the liquid limit. As an inferential test, empirical correlations have been developed to assess the shear strength of soils at liquid limit.

Swell Testing Apparatus

Remoulded Compacted soil, when soaked in water, absorbs water and swells. Swell Test Apparatus is designed to determine the swelling pressure developed by soil specimens moulded to desired densities at known moisture content.

Proctor Penetrometer

This spring-type penetrometer can be used in the field to control Soil compaction. The stem is calibrated to 150 lbf x 2 lbf divisions, And a sliding collar indicates the applied load. A rapid estimate of The moisture content of soil can be obtained by comparing the Amount of penetration of the needle for a corresponding load, with a laboratory determined moisture/ density curve for a similar soil. Needle points are available as a set, together with an adaptor stem for the smaller needles.

Proctor Penetrometer (spring type) with stainless steel adaptor stem for larger needles. Supplied without needle points.
Weight 2.0 kg
EL29-3929
Set of Needle Points stainless steel, 1, 3/4, 1/2, 1/3, 1/5, 1/10, 1/20, 1/30 and 1/40 inch2 area (645, 484, 323, 215, 129, 65, 32, 21.5 and 16 mm2) with adaptor for smaller needles.
